The totem pole was created a short time after the opening of the Florence Branch Library. It was created by the late Harold Skeers, a long-time Florence resident.
Mr. Skeers' work was displayed in and around Omaha. Some may recall a private home just east of 16th and Leavenworth with a statue out front. Yes, it was the work of Mr. Skeers. The owner moved and took the statue along.
Do you know of more work by Mr. Skeers or do you have any information about the totem pole at the Florence Library? We would love to hear from you.
